April 25, 2013 A Day in New Orleans With My Brother

We started our day at the Audubon Zoo which is in a beautiful park.

This silverback seemed to be practicing his yoga positions...

...while this gorilla was practicing a position I have perfected.

This male bird was doing his best to impress....

...this female but she had no interest in him at all...

...but like most guys, he kept strutting around for no good reason.

Chrissy posed us by this sign for some reason...

...she was probably hoping this guy wanted an 'otter' snack.

The zoo has an amazingly elaborate Swamp exhibit.

After the zoo we took a nice drive along Magazine Street to the French Quarter where we had dinner at Oceana. The chargrilled oysters were very good.

Jeff & Christy on Bourbon Street.

We stopped at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar for a Voodoo drink as we headed to Frenchmen St.

We stopped at BMC to see the Hubcap Kings and later in the night we saw Truman Holland's Back Porch Review.

We also stopped at an Art Market on Frenchmen St., where I ran into my photographer friend, Andy Levin.

There's always live music on Frenchmen Street.

A late night dessert at Café Du Monde before calling it a night.
