September 20, 2011 Old Whores Don't Do Much Giggling

This is my friend Adam. I had to steal a picture from his facebook page. I tried to find one where he didn't seem gay...dude, you have lots of pictures with you hugging guys...so I took one where he looks like he is struggling to hold back a serious bowel movement. Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know that Adam is very articulate when trying to express his views or opinions. I mention this because after much cajoling from me...he started a blog at http://adambalcazar.blogspot.com/. Adam & I have had numerous conversations about music, politics, religion and life in general. I look forward to reading his blog and if you can waste time reading this blog, then you have time to read his blog.

September 19, 2011 The Good Old Days In America

Who says things are better nowadays? Here's proof that America was definitely better in the old days.

September 18, 2011 Hiking In The Rain

I finally took the dogs for a hike. It has been a long time since our last hike and even though I was exhausted and it was raining, I felt guilty so off to the Indiana Dunes State Park we went.
Oslo was much quicker up the dunes than me or Roxie.
We took Trail 8 over Mount Jackson and Mount Holden then we cut across to Trail 7 for an easier way back to the car. As usual I had fun and I missed my Fluff on the hike.

September 17, 2011 Wrestling The Fanook

Now that is getting cooler, Oslo is always looking to play outside. So today, I wrestled with him until he ran away and started picking on Roxie.

September 16, 2011 My Experimental Grasses

Since the dogs destroy my backyard every year, I decided to plant some experimental grasses to see if they can survive. I am happy to report most of them lived through an extremely hot and very wet summer. There was one more that I couldn't post a picture of for legal reasons...I'll let my groundskeeper explain it to you... "This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff."

September 13, 2011 Political Cartoons

Why do cartoons make more sense then the real politicians?
And the bigger question, why do Americans put up with all the bullshit spewing from politicians?

September 12, 2011 Chicago White Skirts

Yesterday I went to my last White Sox game of the year. Thank God I don't have anymore tickets for this sorry ass team. Note: Paul Konerko is excused from the following rant. This team has put forth zero effort all year long. I blame everyone, the players, the manager and the general manager. By the end of the year, a few younger players just called up showed some hustle. I am sure the lazy crap veterans on the team were telling them to stop showing them up. So here's my idea for the White Sox marketing department for next year. Make them wear skirts until they play like real men.

September 11, 2011 Ten Years Later

No need for a picture today. Those images will never be forgotten by me. I feel for the families that lost loved ones ten years ago due to the senseless and cowardly actions of a few misguided people. I too wanted revenge for those responsible for killing innocent people. But a decade later I have to wonder who did more damage to our country. Was it a few foreign terrorists or was it all of us Americans?

September 7, 2011 My Dream

The dream is always the same...bodysurfing huge waves at the Wedge in Newport Beach. That dream was reality last week due to storms in the Pacific Ocean...not for me, I'm stuck in Chicago...but for this guy.

September 6, 2011 Meter Reading

I e-mailed the reading to Nicor. They didn't believe me so I had to send a picture.

What do you want me to say about this...somehow I came across this and it made me laugh.

September 4, 2011 Kuhl

I don't go shopping for clothes very often. I usually buy clothes while on vacation. I shop at the surfer stores in Huntington Beach California or the independent stores on the Lower East Side and downtown Manhattan. Recently I bought some clothing at REI. I needed new hiking boots and found these jeans by Kuhl. I really liked the jeans and because I have no life I actually read the tags hanging from the back pocket. I found some interesting reading there. There are companies that believe in the world community. That believe profits can be used to make the world a better place for everyone not just shareholders. And I want to believe that I am not alone in wanting to support these companies. If you care check them out at http://www.kuhl.com

Sometimes you have to quell the 'crave' even if you didn't know you had the 'crave'. It turns out that original cheeseburgers taste much better than cheddar cheeseburgers.

What does a miltia man have to do with Bronzeville? These are the kind of thoughts I have while stuck in traffic driving a van full of gas fumes.

August 29, 2011 So Proud

Ricobene's,  Bridgeport, Chicago

This is Cindy. She is the little sister of one of my best friends. Whenever Chrissy and I felt like having a kid around we would take her with us. She was the flowergirl at my wedding. She is about to devour a Chicken Vesuvio sandwich at Ricobene's. She is one of the few kids I've have spent time with since they were babies. So why am I so proud of her. Is it because she has turned out to be a fine young woman? Is it because she developed a love of Chicago because we took her to the city as a kid? Is it because she graduated from college and currently has a job with a local United States congressman? Of course it is all of that, but not tonight. I'm so proud of her because after splitting a chicken vesuvio with me after a White Sox game, she decided she couldn't wait until she got home and ate her carry out chicken vesuvio sandwich. I'm so proud that my love of good food was passed on to her. Unfortunately, hearing my smartass comments while growing up has made her pretty good at that too. So I'd be a hypocrite if I wasn't proud of the few good sarcastic remarks she directed at me. Well done Cindy.

August 28, 2011 A Mountain of Blow & Hookers

My wife is out of town and the dream is always the same...a pile of cocaine and hookers all around me. But the reality is dirty clothes, sink full of dishes and an empty fridge. Reality sucks! By the time I do the laundry, clean the dishes, walk the dogs and restock the fridge I don't have any time for drugs and women. But if I had just hired a maid then..."say hello to my little friend!"
