Munster, Indiana
In an effort to add some discipline to my easily distracted mind, I am creating this blog to practice writing and photography on a somewhat regular basis. The title comes from a story about my Irish Grandfather. When I was a baby anytime my mother would ask him if he wanted to hold me, he would say "Does he still shit in his pants?" It sounds like something I would say about a baby and it makes me laugh every time I think about it. BTW, YOU CAN CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO SEE IT FULL SIZE.

January 30, 2011 SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
Yes, I purposely used capital letters for today's blog because I am screaming at you. I have been very vocal in my support of locally owned businesses. It is these independently owned businesses that made America the greatest country on Earth, not the giant corporations that currently control every aspect of your life. Every time you shop at Walmart you are personally destroying this country. You are responsible for jobs leaving this country, you are responsible for allowing China to put lead in children's toys, you are responsible for lowering the acceptable standards of a good paying job. So I am asking, just as my local butcher is also asking though in a much kinder way, support the American way by supporting your local businesses.

January 29, 2011 Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
Burns Harbor Break Wall - Portage, IN
I took the dogs for a short hike at the Portage Lakefront & River Walk section of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore this morning. Unfortunately, there are now signs prohibiting dogs from the beach area. Once again, responsible dog owners pay the price of lazy motherfuckers that don't clean up after their dogs. The shelf ice wasn't very thick but it did extend out about 30 yards or so. The National Park Service has closed the Riverwalk Boardwalk and the pier for the winter season. That is too bad because there isn't much else to see at this little park squeezed between two steel mills. At least this piece of lakefront property was reclaimed as public land, a sign that anything is possible if someone is willing to fight for it.

Living Room - Lansing, IL
Chrissy doing homework for her Master's class. I think she is also watching American Idol on the DVR. College kids today, they have it so easy.
